Geo Hanzlik, MSW has logged over 18,000 hours of professional practice as an executive coach and psychotherapist. He holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) with a specialization in family systems, highlighting his skill in navigating complex interpersonal relations.
Background
In 2007, Geo established a private psychotherapy practice in Boulder, Colorado, where he provided clinical treatment for individuals, couples, and families. His expertise includes trauma resolution, mood disorders, family systems, and conflict resolution. He worked in close collaboration with treatment teams consisting of psychiatrists, wellness experts, addiction specialists, and primary care doctors.
In 2014, Geo joined Techstars Boulder as an executive coach, supporting early stage founders while helping develop the incubator’s initial founder coaching program. He then relocated to NYC to serve as a portfolio liaison and to assess founding teams in a VC firm while working full time as an embedded coach in a fintech startup. In 2017, he joined boutique coaching firm Neuberg, Gore, and Associates as a senior expert and pivoted fully into executive coaching.
From 2009 to 2016, Geo directed programs with the Men’s Leadership Alliance (MLA), a non-profit organization providing resources and programs to men of all ages. At the MLA, he developed and facilitated week long wilderness rites of passage programs, men's groups, and men's leadership retreats. Geo also spent 17 years studying indigenous healing methods in the Brazilian Amazon.
Currently, Geo works with companies to support development of their CEO's, founders, senior executives, and leadership teams through consultation, coaching, teaching, facilitation, and mediation. He also takes executive teams surfing through Jonnysurfer, a retreat business he cofounded with longboard champion Jonathan Paskowitz,.
Geo lives in Red Hook, Brooklyn with his partner Andrea Lauer, where he can be spotted speeding over the Manhattan Bridge on his bike in all weather conditions, surfing in warm water locales, cold plunging in his backyard, or traveling to Europe to check in on his two college age children who are apparently “studying” at Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
